For the 2024 Grayslake Central Football Season, I shifted my focus from creating content solely for the team to building a cohesive creative identity for the program. My goal was to bring a college-level creative presence to a high school team through engaging social media content and unique graphics, and I can say that I achieved this goal. The Grayslake community has always taken tremendous pride in its football program, especially in recent years. With a new coaching staff introduced in 2023 that placed a heavy emphasis on the "One Team, One Goal" mentality, I wanted to take on the challenge of bringing that to life.
This most recent season, the team adopted the slogan "We Are Rams" (W.A.R.). With this new identity, I worked to integrate the theme of interdependence and unity into the team's graphics, along with the grittiness of the sport of football. These graphics emphasize both togetherness and how each individual contributes to the greater program. Additionally, my use of displacement maps and chromatic aberration in some of my most recent graphics creates a distorted, grimy feeling that emphasizes the hard, physical nature of the sport.
